An excavating contractor you can actually get on the phone

Walker Precision Excavating is a family owned excavation company based in Constantine, Michigan, working both sides of the state line across the Michiana corridor. Josh Walker started the business in 2016 with his own machine, and it still runs the same way it did then. The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to run the equipment, and there is no dispatch center or subcontractor chain in between.

We handle the dirt work most jobs start and end with. Excavation and site prep for new builds, land clearing to open up a lot or a fence line, stump grinding that takes the stump below grade instead of shaving it flush, septic system installation, fine grading for driveways and pads, pond construction, and demolition with the cleanup included. Most of it is residential and light commercial work for homeowners, builders, and farmers who want a straight number before anybody starts digging.

That straight number is the part people tell us they were missing. You get a real quote based on what the job actually takes, not a range that moves once the equipment is on site. If something changes underground and the price has to change with it, you hear about it that day, before the work happens, not on the invoice at the end.

Working both sides of the Indiana line

Being based in Constantine puts us close to the whole Michiana market. On the Indiana side we work South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, Granger, and Goshen. On the Michigan side we cover Niles, Cassopolis, Dowagiac, Three Rivers, and Edwardsburg itself. Cass County, St. Joseph County on both sides of the border, and Elkhart County are all regular territory.

The advantage of a local outfit on a job like this is simple. We know what the ground does around here. Sandy soil in one township and heavy clay two miles away changes how a septic field gets built and how a driveway holds up through a Michiana winter. We know which townships want a permit pulled and how long the inspection usually takes. That knowledge is the difference between a job that goes smooth and one that stalls for two weeks.
